September Community Coffee

The Parents’ Association held its first Community Coffee of the year this past Friday. We were thrilled to see such a large crowd of parents gather to kick-off the school year!

Headmaster Jay Scheurle lead the discussion about setting priorities for MVS based upon the “hopes and dreams” of our community. Themes from the input of our parents, students and faculty were recently written into a new vision statement entitled Imagining the Future of MVS, which can be accessed on the school website. Mr. Scheurle stated that while many of those ideas for the new vision statement have been a part of the MVS history for the past 50 years, some ideas are new and have pushed us into new areas.

Many more opportunities will be offered to parents to continue this discussion, including the 50^th Anniversary celebration for MVS on September 20^th. Please take time to RSVP for this event by clicking the anniversary emblem on the homepage of the school website.

• PIN nights: Lower School- Tuesday, September 10^th; Middle School- Wednesday, September 11^th; Upper School- Thursday, September 12^th; all at 7:00 pm.
• Convocation– Friday, September 19^th, 8:30 am.
• Community Cookout & Bonfire– Friday, September 19^th, 5:00 pm.
• MVS Run for the Rams & Fun Run– Saturday, September 20^th, 9:30 am.
• MVS 50^th Anniversary Dinner– Saturday, September 20^th, 6:00 pm.
• Next Parents Association meeting– Wednesday, October 15^th, 12:00 pm; on-campus, lunch will be provided.
