With no school on Friday, February 15, MVS is offering a family ski trip at Mad River Mountain. It is just southeast of Bellefontaine, Ohio, about 70 miles from school.
The Miami Valley School has a group reservation and is receiving special discounted rates based upon the group registration. Lift tickets for adults (age 13+) are $38, juniors (ages 7-12) are $28, and free for under age 7. Ski or snowboard rental for adults is $24, juniors is $19, and $7 for children under age 7. Helmet rentals are $7 for all ages. Group lessons are available for ages 7 and up at a rate of $13 per hour. Beyond the indicated discounts, active or retired military may receive even greater discounts and reduced rates.

Interested families should complete the MVS Family Ski Trip at Mad River Mountain Registration Form. It should be returned with cash or check (sorry, no credit cards) by Monday, February 11. Payments are remitted to Anne Dettmer and made out to her with a memo line notation of “MVS ski trip.” Mrs. Dettmer’s desk is located in the administrative offices in the lower school building; however, registration and payment may also be forwarded through the respective division assistants (i.e. Katie McCallum in upper school, Kathy Kissinger in middle school, and Amy Glisson-Powell in lower school). On the date of the event, all families should meet in front of the fireplace in the main lodge for ticket distribution. More specifics will be emailed to those who sign up closer to the event date.
